An Unexpected Love

Scripture:  John 3:16 -  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
 
Those that said they loved me, hurt or left me
Now, I question love, because I gave the best of me

However, I met somebody through faith unexpectedly
This person knew me before I met Him, apparently

This person is familiar with my failures, flaws, and sin
He asked me to confess, repent, and cast them unto Him

The relationship begins once I accept Him as Lord and Savior
He will reside in my heart, while assuring me eternal favor

I was so curious of why He wanted a relationship
Exclusively choosing me to join His kingdom citizenship

Then, His Book of Love revealed my sins were expunged
He proved His love by giving His only begotten Son

I prayed to Him about all my troubles
I began to doubt Him, as if He was like the others

He reminded me that many of my troubles will exist continuously
He never promised to remove them, but to be right there with me

At any time or anyplace, I can share challenges and problems
I can cast my cares, and depend on Him to resolve them

An unexpected love, my fears and doubts are no longer
Even when I am weak, He is available and stronger

Now, I know what love is
In return, He wants me to demonstrate the same to others, just as He did

Prayer:  It is so encouraging to know I am loved. I didn’t even have to earn it. It’s only because of Your wonderful grace. In fact, You love me despite me. I praise You, Lord! I can count on You to always be there for me. There is not a promise You haven’t kept. To add, I haven’t been the best lover to you. Forgive me Father! Meanwhile, I receive new mercies. Lord, continue to teach me this love, so I can demonstrate this to my neighbor, enemies, and the lost. They need to know this love is available to them. Thank You for loving me! I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen!
