SUNDAY MORNING PRAYERS with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE:  "You are witnesses, and God also, how devoutly and justly and blamelessly we behaved ourselves among you who believe; 11 as you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children, 12 that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory. " 1 Thessalonians 2:10-12
Father, we thank You so very much once again for the great gift of Your Son, the Lord Jesus. We're thankful for the many ways You have shown grace to us and You have been a perfect Father.  You have loved us unconditionally and You have made promises that You have kept.  You have been to us everything a Father is supposed to be and we thank You for that, because that has supplemented for many of us what has been lacking in some of our relationships with our fathers from the past. You have erased the harshness of those memories. You have removed them and replaced them with the Your presence in the midst of our lives.  As we open Your Word this day we want to ask You to give light and to give encouragement to all gathered here. As we focus on encouraging men, we pray that You would also encourage the women too. That You would have a Word for every individual, Father, and make this a great day that ultimately, above every earthly father, the people of God would rise up and will celebrate You, our heavenly Father, and give You all the honor and praise.  Use the servant I pray, Your son and Your servant, that I may speak those things that are consistent with Your Word and we will give You praise and we will give You thanks, our Father, in Jesus name, amen and amen.
