Take Over for Your Glory

The Holy Spirit wants to fill us to overflow. The filling ministry of the Holy Spirit is the spiritual state in which He controls and influences us in all that He desires to pour into the heart and life of a believer. He comes into enemy territory that still has pockets of resistance to “take over.”

The Scripture says to “be filled” – it is a command and a responsibility if we are to grow in the character of the Lord Jesus Christ and to be conformed to His image. The flesh will never please God, so all of our best “do’s” and “don’ts” won’t work. As we yield and He fills, we will bear His fruit to pour into others – love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

As the widow in II Kings 4 was instructed to pour the oil in the empty vessels, all of the vessels were filled. She then said to her son in II kings 4:6b “Bring me another vessel. And he said to her, ‘There is not another vessel.’ So the oil ceased.”’ Dr. Herbert Lockyer (All the Women of the Bible) said, “God never allows His provision to run to waste.” When our will yields for JESUS to take over, nothing is wasted – not even our pain.
PRAYER: Take over LORD – take over!!! For our growth and Your Glory – TAKE OVER!!!
