Set-Up for a Miracle
SCRIPTURE: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Gary Raymond said, “If they were happening every day, they wouldn’t be called miracles, they’d be called regulars.” I think that’s a great statement. Miracles aren’t regulars. They’re every once in a while or maybe once in a lifetime, but they are God-timed! A miracle is any divinely introduced interruption of the ‘normal’ order of life (of course life itself is sustained by God and is “miraculous”).
“In its use, there may be an emphasis on God’s power, on the signifying nature of the occurrence, or on the awe it engenders in the observers.” (Logos) Elisha said to a widow, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors – empty vessels; do not gather just a few. (II Kings 4:3)” God was going to perform a miracle. When Jesus was asked in Luke 10:29, “Who is my neighbor?” Think about it, what kind of attitude do you and I example that would provide an opportunity to meet a need? Cold, snobbish, unfriendly or warm, caring and friendly? The widow could have said “I went out to find a friend, but could not find one there,” or “I went out to be a friend, and friends were everywhere.” May you and I grow in grace to be the neighbor that can become an unknowing participant in an unexpected blessing/miracle in a time of need.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for the demonstrations of miracles that I experience through Your lovingkindness and grace in the obvious blessings. But help me to be more intentional in giving You thanks in the smallest miracles of my life that only You and I know. Yes Lord!!!

Amen, Sis. Cheryl--whether it's for the miraculous or "the regulars" we're called to take note, be watchful, and seize the God-timed opportunities to be what our Lord has called us to be. (convicting devotional), thank you!
Amen.
Amen Sister Cheryl! For God all things are possible.
