SUNDAY MORNING PRAYERS WITH Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE: “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. 10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. 11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people.” Psalm 9:9-11
Eternal Father and our gracious God, we again thank You for the Word You given unto us. You expose us to us. You made us to examine ourselves in the manner that we should. That each one of us, as we prepare to go into a new year, we are certainly thinking of how it is going to be better than our last year. We’ve heard the testimonies of people who have gone through some rough things. But Lord, You have told us to make sure that we are trusting You. No one else can do for us what You can. We thank God for doctors, nurses, and health professionals, we thank God for medicines, we thank You for all of that. But beyond all of that, it is You, it is Your power, it is by Your Spirit that we are healed, rebuilt and renewed. It is by Your Spirit that we are brought to a place of Spirituality that is pleasing and acceptable in Your sight. So, as You look at all of us, You see our hearts. You know where we need to be fixed, You know where we need to be dealt with, You know where we need to be broken. We want to be ready to walk with You into the new year in fellowship as one of Your sons and one of Your daughters, walking together with our spiritual Daddy and living in the grace and in the mercy that You so willingly desire to be a part of our lives. We ask these things in Your matchless name, amen and amen!
