SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE: “Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her:” Proverbs 31:28

As we look to God’s Word, a quick brief word to mothers, it is Mother’s Day and certainly, we want to give honor to all mothers for the role that they are playing in the transmission of God’s truth from generation to generation. We’re thankful to God for His invention and creation of the concept of motherhood, whereby women have been given the distinct and unique privilege to not only conceive, but also to be those who protect the child in utero, transferring to them important things like protection and trust. So, we thank God for mothers and even grandmothers. In this age we live in a number of grandmothers are doing double duty and for whatever circumstances they are pulling up responsibilities in the mothering aspect. So, we give a word of encouragement to grandmothers, who are embracing the role, stepping in or filling in the gap, so that the transmission of truth is not being lost for whatever challenges the actual mother faces. So Happy Mother’s Day. May the Lord bless you. I hope that those around you, children, spouses find creative ways to make mothers feel very special today. Let’s face it, mothers, women are very important in the world, and we give honor to God for that.  In Jesus’s name, amen and amen.
