ARE WE MATURE YET? [PART I]
SCRIPTURE: “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15, 16

Have you ever asked yourself what is the mindset of a spiritually mature person? Just what are some evidences that someone has such a mindset? It has been said that such people tend to age more gracefully than those who do not. How’s THAT for motivation, you “baby-boomers” out there?!?
Christian counselor and author June Hunt says the following about those in possession of a spiritually mature mindset: (1) They realize that their earthly life is but a vapor. [See Psalm 39:5] Their heightened awareness of this fact increases their desire to grow in the grace of God and in the knowledge of His Word. [They are DOERS of it, rather than hearers only!] They are more conscious than most that their time is in God’s hands, and they’re content with the Lord’s timetable. (2) They possess courage to accept change. Christ supplies those who believe Him with confidence to face the necessary changes which conform us to His image. (3) They love what God loves and hate what He hates! They are motivated to choose the former, as they long to please Him. (4) Those with the mindset of a spiritually mature person have learned to accept themselves and others. How is this possible? They realize that acceptance of others flows from the fact of their OWN acceptance by none other than Christ Jesus! [Romans 15:7].
PRAYER: Dear Father, inasmuch as the highest motivation for our maturing in Your Son is that we will be fashioned into His image while living out our days on this earth, please guide us in renewing our intent to submit all aspects of our heart, mind, and soul to maturing in Christ, in whose name we ask these things and give You thanks; amen!
