It’s Not Just About Me

Forty years of Pastoral and Church Ministry- that’s what we’re celebrating in the month of June. Join us as we receive encouragement from one another as we read about the when and the how the Lord led each writer to Genesis Bible Fellowship Church!  Enjoy today's devotional and may it remind you of when you were led to this branch of Zion!
SCRIPTURE: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
SCRIPTURE: "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth." Psalm 127:3-4
After serving in ministry with my husband at our former church for many years we
sensed that the Lord was giving us the green light to begin a new season and seek a
new church home. Together with our children we visited several congregations that
were strong in teaching the Word and committed to serving the community and while we
appreciated those qualities, we felt that something important was still missing.

In addition to being a church that is Word centered, and community focused it was
important for us to find a congregation that also provided a strong community for our
children. We desired opportunities such as Awana’s ministry, children’s church and
other age-appropriate ministries that would partner with us as parents in nurturing and
developing our children in their faith. We were looking for a church family where both we
and our children could grow spiritually and be supported in every stage of life and that’s
why we chose Genesis Bible Fellowship Church over 20 years ago.

PRAYER: Dear Lord thank you for a Pastor who had a vision to meet the need of the
whole family and for the body of believers who have helped me to pour into my children
for your Glory and their good.
