The Believer’s Testimony
SCRIPTURES: "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." Revelation 12:11
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." Romans 1:16
"He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”
12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?”
John 5:11-12
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." Romans 1:16
"He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”
12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?”
John 5:11-12

When we are interrupted by our Lord and are able to see the light to believe on Him, we become simply amazed, to say the least. Just like when Paul was struck to the ground in Acts 9. We are humbled with the thought that The God of the Universe loves “me”(it is personal); and desires to use me in His plan. A plan that was developed before time and was actually carried out in time just for those who would believe (as stated by Pastor Cockrell). The Person of Jesus Christ, yes, the Son of God was the only One qualified to satisfy God’s holy demand against sin. He would be obedient, even unto death and be the Savior of the World. He bridged the gap between God and mankind when He took God’s wrath for our sin on the cross. He did what no one else could do. In our flesh, we were without hope; but in Christ, we are eternally saved, rescued from our sin, and made recipients of God’s everlasting love; and for that, we are grateful!
Because of the impact of Christ’s love for mankind, He has many roles, descriptions throughout the Scriptures. For "The Father placed all things in His hand," (John 3:35b). Christ is described as "the Word of God made flesh," in John 1. In Hebrews 1, Christ is referred to as "the radiance of the glory of God." In Ephesians 1, He is referred to as "the believer’s inheritance." We know Him, saints! He is our grace, mercy, peace, way maker, provider, deliverer, Lord, and friend. He is our everything!
In the Gospels, Christ is noted as a great teacher, prophet, healer and so much more. Again, He was obedient to the Father, even unto death. He was a miracle worker to bring great glory to God on earth as it is in heaven. His work on the cross, and His resurrection made Him our rightful advocate, as He sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, ever living to make intercession for us (Romans 8:34 ).
In the Book of Revelation, we see, yet, another picture of Christ and His glory (we note that all scripture is fulfilled). He returns to earth as the Judge and King. All beings in heaven, earth, and under the earth who rejected God’s power and authority will see and know Jesus; “He is Lord! (Revelation 17:14 )” God’s Christ, yes the Messiah who once was known as the meek and lowly One will return to earth to judge those who chose to raise themselves up against His majesty and authority. They will be brought low, even to their knees and will confess what was always true, “Christ is Lord!” to the glory of the Father (Philippians 2:10-11). Hallelujah!
PRAYER: Thank You, dear Lord, for the believer’s testimony. For only we know and sing of Your Redemptive plan by which we are overcomers! Thank You for the finished work on the cross which gave us the opportunity to be reconciled and have a relationship with the Father. We are grateful for the power of repentance; and that there is nothing that we or any other can do to separate us from the Love You determined before time began. Let the Redeemed of the Lord say so! We proclaim, “You are Our Lord and King forever.” In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
