In God We Trust

SCRIPTURE: “I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:2
So far, this year has been very strange, dealing with my brother not being around and the sudden increase in the difficulty of my classes. However, this year I saw the Lord working in my life, in my mom’s life, and in my brother’s life, as well as many of those around me. I always think about how my brother was held back by the swim test and how the Navy would send him back if he weren’t able to complete the test in time. This time was very tough on my brother because he only had so much time, and he hardly ever got time to go to the pool and practice for himself. From a realistic standpoint, it seemed like he wouldn’t be able to pass boot camp, but the Lord is not bound by reality. My Mom and I would pray continuously that God would allow him to pass the swim test, and we also had a large body of saints praying for him as well. Then, on the last day of examinations, my brother called us, saying with such excitement, “I passed!” Imagine our joy at that moment. God has answered our prayers. My brother then says that he just did it, despite previously only being able to swim half the pool, and at that moment, it was clear as day that God was working in him. That moment also demonstrated to me the power of prayer. So, when we are faced with problems and obstacles in our lives that seem impossible, we should pray to God and trust in Him with all our hearts, because with God, all things are possible.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for working in our lives, for answered prayers and working in us both to will and to do for Your good pleasure.  We will continue to seek You and pray. In Jesus’ name, amen.
