Trusting God’s Unfailing Love

SCRIPTURE: How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? 3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death; 4 Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him”; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved. 5 But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. 6 I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 13
Lord! I have called Your name over and over again,
Suffering with despair, wondering where you’ve been.

How do I contend with these troubles and trials around me,
The depth and duration have wreaked havoc without boundaries.

Lord! I feel like You’ve deserted and forgotten me,
My prayers appear ignored while matters are unkindly.

Such a powerful God, yet so quiet,
Your grace and mercy appear private.

Where is Your faithfulness during my hour of sorrows,
No longer am I looking forward to my days and tomorrows.

How long O Lord, my season of crisis has been painfully extended,
Yet, You promised to be with me in trouble, yet I sense abandonment.

I have so many questions, my Lord, look on me and answer me,
I need Your heavenly intervention for my sufferings and enemies.

Meanwhile, I will continue to trust You, Lord even in my despair,
What’s damaged or hopeless, destroyed or broken, please repair.

Only You can make a way with a resume that’s impeccable,
You’ve changed the unchangeable and loved the unlovable.

I know Your heart Lord and You know the plans You have for me,
Your goodness, faithfulness, and love supersede my difficulties.

Although, my circumstances may not be appealing or favorable,
Your unfailing love has been proven, loyal, and irreplaceable.

So, my confidence and trust are assured by my faith,
My tears are wiped clear with joy, hope, and total praise.

Therefore, You may not have come when times were hard,
But I can testify from experience, You are an on-time God.

PRAYER: Thank You, Jesus, for time after time exhibiting a love that’s unfailing.
