God’s Paths are Tailor-Made

SCRIPTURE: “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always
carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also
may be manifested in our body…” II Corinthians 4:8-10
A complacent attitude toward a myriad of inconsistencies is a prime reason for why God jolts us. These inconsistencies fall into categories such as: Bible study, prayer, church attendance, and service. Our spiritual journey is a developmental one, where God is conforming us to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Change must occur as we draw closer to the living God so should we be surprised when the trials come? Yes, it is a painful process when our hearts are crushed over relational losses due to death or conflict. But yet these same hearts are stretched when we are required to cultivate new habits, thoughts, or decision-making processes.

What course of action must we pursue? Ask for wisdom, patience, understanding, or the moment by moment infilling of the Holy Spirit. Beware of asking God to grant all of the aforementioned spiritual benefits without the expectation of suffering. This is fallacious thinking! “Although He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.” (Hebrews 5:8)

PRAYER: Father forgive me for thinking that this journey is going to stressless because I am a believer. May I continue to mature with the mind of Christ to continue to learn obedience by the things I have been ordained to be tested for Your Glory!!!
