Seasons of Refreshing

SCRIPTURE: “See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before
they spring into being I announce them to you.” Isaiah 42:9
Transitions are productive in a myriad of ways because they: establish new relationships; offer freedom from past bondage; grant a new or renewed vision for ministry; energize a pursuit for new possibilities; and heighten a revitalized level of excitement about your walk with the Lord. Our Heavenly Father deals with us in a holistic way: spirit, soul, and body. “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” (I Thessalonians 5:23-24)

By definition, the spirit is that part of us that communicates with God; the soul is the seat of our personality and emotions; and the body is the temporary earthly abode that houses our spirit and soul. Paul desired that the Thessalonians maintain a blameless relationship with both God and others. Seasons of refreshing stimulate a desire to worship Christ with a new perspective of His love.

There should also be an internal heart’s desire to resemble Him in character and
conduct. The respected nineteenth century Anglican archbishop, William Temple, said,
“For to worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind
with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God, to open up the
heart to the love of God, and to devote the will to the purpose of God.”

PRAYER: Precious Lord how wonderful are the seasons of refreshing. Thank You
for every year, month, day, hour, minute and second that is gifted by You to bless and
refresh us Your children. We love You LORD!!!

Amen?? Thank you Sis. Cheryl for this devotional. Father God, thank you for transforming us from where we were 10, 20, 30 years ago, and for continuing to work on us, in us, and through us for Your glory. Thank you for your patience with us, that in spite of our shortcomings, pride, and stubbornness, You have been faithful, loving, kind and merciful. We bless You, and surrender our hearts to you in the precious name of Jesus, Amen??
